The ProGuardian Ballistic Insert is rated per UL 752 Level 8
This document reflects the official test results of the ProGuardian unit conducted at the NTS Ballistic Testing Facility in Wichita, Kansas. During testing, five 5.56 rounds were fired at the ballistic insert with zero penetration, confirming its protective performance. Additionally, three rounds of 12-gauge shot were fired from the protected side, all achieving full penetration through the same insert, demonstrating the one-way ballistic capability of the ProGuardian system.
Witness Panel Results
A witness panel is an aluminum panel placed in the path of an on-coming ballistic round (i.e. 12 ga 2 ¾”1485 velocity,
6 shot). The force applied by the ballistic round is measured by the deformation of the witness panel, including the panel at times being partially severed. In the case of ProGuardian the ballistic force delivered even after passing through the one-way unit was still enough to tear a large opening in the witness panel. That
amount of force is far greater than what
is necessary to be considered lethal.
